About...
Because (mis)information is Power!

The Game:

Catacly-Ism is a casual core real-time strategy game where the player must systematically demolish swathes of the city to deal with the threat of the day, ranging from Modzilla and Little Green Men from Mars to runaway fires and tidal floods. With an entire city at your disposal, you set charges that detonate on command to send flying masonry into the path of the oncoming threat.

The company you work for, Clysm Corp., is paid to both drive off the threats facing the city and then rebuild it. As a threat-response company, you’re authorized to blow buildings and infrastructure up in the name of saving them. Of course, as a reconstruction company, the more buildings that go down during the… ‘unfortunate incidents’, the more money you earn. Bonuses and penalties are awarded by the city based on how well you did your job in ‘defending’ against the threat. The better you do, the bigger the monster or disaster you can… ‘coax’ to show up at the next city.

Be warned though, the Clysm Corporation is not the only company specializing in disaster response and reconstruction. Rival upstart CorpX seeks to steal a slice of the pie!

The Story:

You work for the Clysm Corporation, on the surface a morally upstanding defender of the people and construction company. When a giant monster comes calling, it is the Clysm Corp. that the city calls upon to drive it away, and then contracts the reconstruction to. They also deal with major natural disasters such as fires, earthquakes, floods and volcanos.

Your job? To ensure that everything you read above all goes according to the CEO's plans. The Clysm Corp. has a stake in every building reconstructed, and its goal is to have its hand in the workings of every major city in the world. Among its bag of tricks are bio and technologically engineered creatures, seismic generators and geologically-destabilizing charges planted along the sea bed.

And you thought they were nice people.

The Players:

If you loved games like the Rampage and Godzilla titles, but you've no time because of work and family, this game promises to help you relive your favourite experiences, with a little twist. Don't worry, you'll still get to level your favourite cities!

The Game System:

The game comes in two primary phases: World Map (Recon, Research) and Acquisition (Rigging, Rampage)

Recon: Scour the world for your next 'needful client'. Search the world map for budding cities, pull up blueprints to plan your next approach, and gain access to increasingly wealthy cities for exploitation!

Research: Invest in your destructive potential, increase the budget for propaganda and develop your potential for 'positive reputation'! Build up a stable of 'helping hands', and then 'convince' the city of their need for your protection.

Rigging: Your planning stage. Determine where you will deploy your monster of choice, plant charges that allow you to direct its movement for maximum damage, and generally just plan your route of destruction. Remember: You get more money for buildings you 'justifiably' destroy in the name of defense!

Rampage: The real action starts here! The monster is deployed, and panicked citizens evacuate in droves. Players simply click and drag to create a ‘blasting arc’ that destroys rigged buildings in its path and sends debris or worse in the direction of the blast. You score by hitting the threat with the results of your destructive mouseclicks, but beware: wanton, unwarranted destruction is frowned upon by the city and you will be penalized.

After the dust has settled, the smoke has cleared, and you've 'saved' the city. It's time to rebuild. The Clysm Corp. has a vested interest in any city they rebuild, and the more they've rebuilt a city, the more the city belongs to them. Just be sure that you're healthily in the Black...
